HEAD COACH FERGUS DULLAGHAN

Fergus is a life-long martial arts enthusiast, beginning his training in judo at the age of just four. After playing a variety of sports growing up (including beginning karate at the age of 12).

Fergus began to focus on combat sports in particular in his late teens. He was awarded full university colours from the University of Wales, Bangor for sport (judo and aikido). Particularly after securing a silver medal at the British University Judo Championships (BUSA).

During his 20’s Fergus became a full-time elite athlete in the sport of judo at Team Bath (UK) and represented the Welsh Judo Team from 2006-20012.

Among many competition successes, in 2008 he achieved a 4th place national ranking position in the UK. In 2010, he became Irish national champion. In 2012 he took silver in the Commonwealth Judo Championships. He also holds a black belt in wado ryu style karate.

For over five years Fergus worked as a features writer for a number of US and UK-based martial arts magazines including: Blackbelt, Combat, Fighters, Fighting Fit, Martial Arts Illustrated, Jiu Jitsu Style, Train Hard Fight Easy.

He is also graded in, wing Chun and Brazilian jiu jitsu and has five years of combined kickboxing and Muay Thai experience. He is a UKCC Level two judo coach, a level one Ginastica Natural Coach and a Level one MovNat coach.
